​​Originally known as MedSin, having been modelled off of the International Federation of Medical Student's Association (IFMSA), SfGH was founded with the recognition of the unique position that students possess and their ability to serve their local and international communities through advocacy and global health projects. No longer specifically aimed at medical students, SfGH recognises the importance of interdisciplinary teams to drive effective change. 

 

Our mission: to create a network of students empowered to effect tangible social and political change on a local, national and global level through education, advocacy and community action. 

 

The Cambridge branch began in 2018! As a local branch, we aim to educate the local student population as well as to run campaigns to raise awareness of important issues on the national or international scale.

We are a group of people (mostly students of the University of Cambridge) passionate about Global Health. Our society is run by the Executive Committee, which is currently made up of 8 students. Furthermore, there are currently 6 projects, with enthusiastic people organising many activities throughout the year. We will be running a variety of talks, workshops and projects (mainly during the Cambridge undergraduate term-time) and are also organising a WHO simulation conference!
